What this site is
A working record of research in progress. We publish what we did, when we did it, and what happened, including the parts that did not work.
The subject is the food system — how food is grown, how it is processed, how it is eaten. Our own growing is one thread in it. Entries also cover seed provenance and breeding, remote sensing, growing practice, trade and supply, the cultural practice around food, and the way the system itself is put together. They come as season logs, site records, origin pieces on where a mineral or a variety came from, trade notes and failure notes. If you have arrived at an entry that is not about our soil work, it is in scope and not a detour.
What changes with the subject is who is speaking. On our own growing we are reporting what we did. On everything else we have no standing beyond the sources we cite, and we cite them at the point of the claim.
It is not advice. Nothing here is a recommendation for any particular soil, crop, container, method or product, including our own.
What our results are worth
Everything we describe growing was grown in one small controlled setup. Nothing has been replicated. Nothing has been grown against an untreated control at any scale. No soil and no fruit has gone off for laboratory analysis.
So read what we publish as a record of what we did, not as evidence of what any material does. We make no claim about what our blend does, and we would not accept a claim on this much evidence from anyone else.
Nothing here is for sale
There is no product on this site. Pyro Class has no price, no release date and no waiting list.
Sources, and links to other people
Where we state a fact we link the source at the point of the claim. Go to the source. It will be more precise than our summary of it, and it may say something we missed or got wrong.
Links to other sites are not endorsements. We do not control what they publish and we have not read all of it.
